Rosie

Rosie, a Saluki, came to Kim’s Home from Lincolnshire via Lurcher Link as a foster dog. She was 2 or 3 years old and had been worked hard – her feet had broken toes. She was a feisty dog who barked at everyone and tried to pick fights with her nearest and dearest as well as every other dog. She was a nightmare. By the time she had calmed down and was a beautiful, mellow girl, she was part of the family at Kim’s Home and I was allowed to adopt her.

She loved running – like all Salukis. She loved her “babies” and always had a cuddly toy in her bed. She could be moody at times but was also a playful dog with a great sense of humour.

Her health was not good in her last years – kidney problems, a stroke, heart problems. It was osteosarcoma that finally finished her off. She died in July, 2012, too young at 14.
