Zak

Zak was a little Whippet cross. He came from the local dog pound over 6 years ago. He was said to be about 8 then. He was still pretty vigorous and had big runs with his mates when the mood took him.

Zak was a sensitive dog and it was clear that something very bad happened to him before he landed in the pound. He was terrified of people and was particularly hysterical if cornered near a doorway. He was also a prodigious whinger. He would whine non-stop when he thought it was time for dinner, or for a walk, or if he didn’t get the chair that he wanted. He was a kind soul though, and was chief cleaner-up of the other dogs. On the way back from walks he would lick all the wet dogs while in the back of the van. I did intend to re-home him but, when I took him to his new home, he screamed hysterically when I disappeared into the bathroom for a few moments and so his potential new owner felt that he was too bonded with me. So he stayed.

Zak sadly passed away on 22nd June 2013.
